Acai Burn

When I first heard about acai berry, my first question was where can I buy acai berry?  I checked at my local grocery store, but they did not have it.  So, I ordered this product off the internet on a “free trial”  Here is my experience:

  • The product arrived in a timely fashion about 5 days after I ordered it. Yipee!  I knew I made the right choice to buy acai.
  • When I opened the product I was surprised that there was no invoice or other contact information from the company.
  • I began taking it immediately.
  • Despite taking it daily, I noticed absolutely no results.  I could have been taking a sugar pill!
  • I was disappointed and began to research the product further.  What I found was that there were numerous people out there who had fallen victim to the same scam.  One person had even been charged for 6 months for a product that she didn’t want.
  • Alarmed, I attempted to call the company.  (I had been smart enough to keep the website information when I placed the order.)  I held for well over an hour with no results.
  • Email yielded no results.
  • I did the only think I knew to do – I canceled my credit card to avoid becoming another victim of the scam.

The bottom line – You need to be very careful about where to buy acai berry.  Pure acai juice is not as easy to find as you might think!

Acai Berry Scams and Acai Pure Scams

Anytime a revolutionary product is unveiled, there are numerous opportunist looking to take advantage of the situation.  Acai Berry is a great health supplement, but it has unfortunately become the focus of very real acai berry scams.  If you are looking to buy acai berry, then read this carefully!

If you want to learn more about how this scam works and how you can avoid being it’s next victim, then read on!  Specifically, I am going to discuss how the scammers lure you in, offer you a “free” trial, bill you monthly for an undisclosed amount and make it next to impossible to cancel.

I fell victim to this scam, so I am speaking from first hand experience. Yes, it is true!  I am embarassed to admit that I unknowingly decided to buy acai from a scammer company.

If you search for acai berry, acai berry juice, acia berry or any other related term, you will most likely end up on a very convincing website.  You will see things like “As seen on: ABC, CNBN, CNN, USA Today and Consumer Reports.”  You may also see names like Oprah, Dr. OZ and Dr. Perricone thrown around.  The scammers are attempting to build creditability with you.  What they aren’t telling you is that their product (which is what they want you to buy) has NEVER been featured in any of these places.  What had been featured is pure acai berry juice.

These sites further try to win you over with a testimonial of the “site owner”.  In this testimonial, a woman will say how skeptical she was about trying acai berry.  She says that she had heard of acai pure scams and other acai berry scams and despite this she resisted her doubts and tried it herself.  She then shares with you a journal of her personal results week by week.  The end result is (of course) that she lost more than 20 pounds.  This testimonial is accompanied by very convincing before and after photos and numerous fake blog comments of other people with good results.  Strangely, there are dozens of websites out there with the exact same testimonial.

Another type of site I have found where they are trying to build credulity in a very unethical way is an article on a site that looks like it is a newspaper.  This particular site is a very good example of the acai berry cleanse scam.  They buy a banner with a fake newspaper name, have the weather in the site bar and even have other categories at the top like sports, weather, and local news, etc.  Of course if you try to click on any of these nothing happens because you aren’t on a newspaper at all!  In the body of the article you get a similar testimonial to the one described above.  (Which you believe because you think you are reading a newspaper!)

So, now that you are wowed by the great results (which of course must be true because Oprah recommends it) you are offered a free trial. You don’t even have to buy acai berry!  All you have to do is pay shipping!  What could be better?

What isn’t disclosed, (or it is in such fine print that you can’t see it) is that after your 14 day trial you will be charged for the (bad quality) acai berry that you have received and will continue to be charged on a monthly basis until you CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARD.  Yep, that’s right!  They make it impossible to cancel.  I personally called and held for over an hour.  Email also yielded no results.  My only option was to cancel the credit card.  I found numerous people on the internet who have be charged over $80 a month for several months for a product that is of poor quality that they don’t want.

DON’T BE A VICTIM OF THE ACAI BERRY SCAM! BUY ACAI BERRY FROM A REPUTABLE SOURCE!
